Rudolf Steiner repeatedly gave space for questions from listeners after his lectures. Some of these answers to questions have already been printed with the corresponding lectures in the respective volumes of the Complete Edition; the previously unpublished ones are now collected in this volume. - Rudolf Steiner was happy to answer questions, but did not want any discussions. Often the listeners were struck by the present background knowledge and detailed knowledge with which he responded to the questions. Other questions, however, which suggested a lack of attention on the part of the listener, he clearly rejected.

The volume is designed as an index: All the answers to questions are listed in chronological order, those already published are listed bibliographically, and those not yet published are printed. The volume also includes all of Rudolf Steiner's interviews and conversations, including those already published, as well as a detailed index of the topics dealt with in the answers to the questions. Thus this volume, which is not to be regarded as a work by Rudolf Steiner, but rather as a collection of fragments based on transcripts of varying quality, is an exciting reading book with diverse suggestions, in which many a lecture topic is deepened, but in which the presence of the audience can also be felt.
