Montsalvat

On Montsalvat, the Mountain of Salvation, in northern Spain in the Pyrenees, the Grail Castle with the temple for the Holy Grail is said to have been erected by the high initiate Titurel, guarded by the community of the Guardians of the Grail, the Templars. This designation for the Grail Knights is probably not chosen by chance and is closely related to the Knights of the Order of the Temple, which was founded later. Munsalvaesche (Occitan: Montsalvasch, "Mountain of Salvation", or Montsauvage, "Wild Mountain") is the name Wolfram von Eschenbach gives to the Grail castle in his Parzival poetry.
