URN
- Namespace: So far, only the namespace
nbn
assigned by the national libraries is resolved. A complete list of defined namespaces can be found at iana.org (English). - Object identifier: Individual code for each document. Often also contains a further subdivision into sub-namespaces such as de.
Optional (third) parameter:
- Abbreviation of the alternative resolver/locator.
Examples
{{URN|nbn:de:101-2014050500}} {{URN|nbn|de:101-2014050500}}
yields: Script error: No such module "Template:URN".
With alternative resolver:
{{URN|nbn:de:bvb:12-bsb10328264-6|resolver=mdz}} {{URN|nbn|de:bvb:12-bsb10328264-6|mdz}}
yields: Script error: No such module "Template:URN".
Alternative resolvers
For technical reasons, in some cases it is necessary not to use the resolver of the national library (such as nbn-resolving.de for the DNB), but specific to a union or particular libraries. Currently, the following alternative resolvers are offered:
- halle
- kiel: Some URNs of Kiel University Library (which start with
urn:nbn:de:gbv:8:2
) are not registered with DNB. - mdz: Some of the URNs of the MDZ Munich are not registered with the DNB and contain an incorrect check digit. These can only be resolved via this resolver.
- miami: The URNs of the MIAMI project of Münster University Library refer to a document download on DNB pages instead of an overview page.
