Oracles (Latin: oraculum, from orare "to pray") are supposed to answer questions about the future through divine revelation, either mediated by medially gifted persons or through external signs such as the flight of birds, haruspicy and the like. The oracle sites themselves, where the sacred oracles were performed, are also often referred to as oracles for short.

The origin of the oracles is to be sought in the seven great oracle sites of the Atlantean period, which were located in spiritually and geographically excellent places that were under the influence of the seven planetary forces, but of which there is no external tradition.
