Astronomy
Astronomy (from Greek: ἀστρονομία astronomía "observation of the regularity of the stars", composed of ἀστήρ astér "star" and νόμος nómos "law") is the science of the properties, movements and formation of the stars. Today it is sharply distinguished from astrology (Greek: ἀστρολογία astrología), which is based on the systematic interpretation of the relationship of certain cosmic constellations, especially the position of the planets in the zodiac, to the earthly life of man.
Rudolf Steiner showed how the astronomical approach can be deepened spiritually without therefore abandoning its strictly scientific character. He describes the basic principles of planetary motion in a completely new way. In addition to screw movements, which we also know from the Copernican worldview, he describes "artistic" movements and above all lemniscate orbits of the planets.
