Eschatology (Greekἐσχατολογία, from τὰ ἔσχατα ta és-chata "the last things") is the doctrine of the so-called "last things" held in various religions, which is connected with the hope for the completion of the whole creation and of the individual. In Christian theology, four last things are spoken of in this context: Death, the Last Judgement, Heaven and Hell.
