This template is used to present text in [[Wikipedia:Arabic language|Arabic language]] and [[Wikipedia:Arabic script|font]] in a uniform and readable manner according to [[Wikipedia:Foreign word formatting|Foreign word formatting]]; in this it differs from the [[Template:ArF]]. In contrast to [[Template:Ar]], an '''additional link''' to the Arabic language is provided.

It also helps browsers, [[Wikipedia:Screenreader|Screenreader]]s and search engines to handle the text better by specifying the writing direction and the language of the text (=Arabic).

Optionally, different transcriptions as well as the meaning of the word can also be given.
