The '''Sefer Yetzirah''' ({{Hebrew|ספר יצירה}} "Book of Formation"; also translated as "Book of Creation") is considered the oldest independently transmitted work of the [[Kabbalah]]. In Jewish secret teachings, [[Yetzirah]] largely corresponds to the [[astral world]], whose lowest three regions, however, overlap with the 3 uppermost regions of the [[etheric world]] (→ [[7 regions of the astral world]]). The book presents the essential elements of creation in their origin ([[cosmogony]]) and their structure ([[cosmology]]). These elements are the 10 primordial digits ([[sefirot]]) and the 22 letters of the [[w:Hebrew alphabet|Hebrew alphabet]].
