When [[Rudolf Steiner]] founded the first [[Waldorf School]] in 1919, in addition to the possibility of denominational religious instruction, he also established free Christian religious instruction for those children whose parents had no church connection. This led to the establishment of a religious "Sunday service" and other cultic celebrations.
