The 10 Sefirot in the Tree of Life connected by the Path of the Flaming Sword (yellow), which indicates the order of their creation from 1 - 10.

The path of the flaming sword, often also called the lightning ray of creation, is a term from the Jewish Kabbalah and connects the 10 sefirot of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life in the order of their emergence from 1 - 10. They are emanations of the divine consciousness.

The lightning ray comes from the Boundless (Ain Soph) and works first in Keter (Crown) and then goes on to Chokmah (Wisdom) and Binah (Understanding), from here diagonally downwards via the invisible sphere Da'at, which however is not mentioned in the early Kabbalistic writings, on to Chesed (love, freedom), then over to Geburah (strength), down to Tiferet (beauty) and Netzach (overcoming, victory), over to Hod (compassion) and then down to Yesod (foundation) and Malkuth (realm), in which the physical world manifests.
